About this Episode

Jonathon Stowell is from Gilbert, Arizona where he was born and raised. Jon started roofing with his dad when he was 9 years old. After working summers until he graduated high school, then serving a 2 year mission for his church, he got married. Having been married for 15 years, he now has 5 children.

Jon spent most of his 20’s working with his father in production and doing some sales. In early 2012, we rebranded the company to 5 Guys Roofing and shifted focus to providing a great experience to not only commercial clients but residential as well.

In late 2012, he decided to go back to school for a degree in drafting and design. Through school he found a passion for marketing and decided to pursue it. He then found a job working with Google in their small business advertising space. He worked in marketing and ecommerce until the end of 2016.

In December of 2016, Jon took a new role as the General Manager of 5 Guys Roofing and came back with a wealth of knowledge in marketing and lead generation. He spent part of 2017 focusing on establishing new marketing strategies as well as business organization and management.

Fast forward to 2021, with the company growing from 3.2 Million in 2016 to projecting 18+ Million in 2021, Jon now sits as the CEO.

Jon attributes growth to a few things:

#1 Focusing on the right people. Empowering people to do what they do best has allowed the company to push top line sales and give the resources to offer more.

#2 Aligning with a few key organizations that understand operational excellence and learning best business practices. This has allowed the company to reduce the learning curve and create faster, more streamlined processes.

#3 Creating a vision for the company and being able to show that to those who work in it. This has created buy-in for a vast majority of employees and without it, 5 Guys Roofing would not be where they are today.

#4 5 Guys Roofing has come to market with a few Unique selling points. 1, being the “Straightforward Pricing” guide for all repairs. This simplifies pricing and options for repairs and gives the customers transparency and trust, which lend to easier, faster decision making. Another unique selling point being the club memberships. Being a member of the Forecare Program gives customers peace of mind that they always have someone watching over their roof and when needed, first in line for any service. Creating customers for life!

On this episode, we talk about focusing on customers and building relationships that will last.
